Leh, Ladakh India Adventure Motorbiking:
Guys, three week rental is recommended OUT OF LEH! The union ensures bike quality and safety...hopefully.
1week Itinerary: Sanskar: Leh, Padam +1, Kargill+1, Aryan Valley +1, Leh.
1 week Nubra Valley Itinerary: speak to leh travel agents and motorbike rental companies like Nezer Inexpensive Adventures.
3 days: cruising around leh and hemis monastery, Thiksey Monastery etc.
Or Buddhahug can sell you a new or used motorbike in Leh for an India month or more adventure.
Current recommendation: Fly into Leh from Delhi or Mumbai and rent here from a local company. In high season organize the rental ahead of time.
Motorbike rental advice:
Rent bikes with Hand Guards, Back Racks, and engine guards.
Bring a small bag, your own soft panniers, and tie downs.
You will need a cell phone holder which you can buy. Ask about motorbike tires....these really matter ( not sure why himalayan 450 is sold without a minimum 50/50 tire?).
Bring good $200 waterproof boots.You can buy a rain jacket if you do not have one.
Bring your international drivers licence with motorbike stamp on it. Get this from home CAA or AAA etc.
